We were just here with a James Bond music update last week, yet here we are again.
No apologies for that. It’s a great time for Bond music.
Tomorrow, October 5, marks the release of Mat Whitecross’s new documentary, The Sound of 007.
The film reveals the history of the Bond music, from the genesis of 1962’s Dr. No with its iconic theme, through to Billie Eilish’s Academy Award®-winning song for 2021’s No Time To Die.
John Barry held the scoring duties for 25 years, spanning four of the six James Bond actors. He was followed by Éric Serra (for one film), David Arnold (who scored all but one of the Pierce Brosnan films and the first two Daniel Craig films), Thomas Newman, and Hans Zimmer.
The Sound of 007 promises to be a treat for Bond music fans on Prime Video.
